The first description from A.B. Stout was not at hand, therefore the description published in his book follows:
"
VESTA. A sister seedling of Wau-Bun and Soudan.
First described with photographs of the plant and of the flowers in House and Garden in 1929 (55: 126);
also described with the same illustrations in Jour. New York Botanical Garden in 1931 (32: 30).
The plant has a compact habit of growth with scapes about 30 inches tall.
The flowers (see plate 31) have a spread of about 4.5 inches, the petals and sepals are broad and overlapping
and their color is deep orange with a slight trace of fulvous in the midzone.
Vesta blooms in late June and early July.
