Gold self with thin gold edge. Larger and a bit lighter in color than SDO, with wider petals and flatter opening flowers. Usually opens a few days before SDO.
Not surprisingly, it's hardier than ADMIRAL'S BRAID, but not as hardy as SDO -- does fine here in zone 6B. Bud count has been as high as 25, but usually 18-20, on 2-way branching plus the top branches. Opens at 10PM, and continues firm and attractive for 22 hours. Easily pod fertile. Pollen fertile if you collect it before insects and dew damage.
