There is no real first description from A.B. Stout (only name mentioned in Journ. New York Bot. Garden, 1946, vol.47, p.79)
" These selections include several of the pink-flowered type, the best of which will be named Martha Turner, and also several seedlings with crimson-red flowers, one of which will be named Martha Strong. "
