In the introduction year, A.B. Stout described it as:
"
A sister seedling of Taruga obtained by crossing Yellow Hammer with Wau-Bun. Here described for the first time.
The plant is of vigorous growth with scapes almost 3 feet tall which hold the flowers slightly above the foliage.
The flowers are full and large, with a spread of at least six inches, the petals are spreading-recurving and have slightly undulate margins.
The color is a clear and uniform shade of orange. The period for flowering is in early July.
