| In the introduction year, A.B. Stout described it as:
 "
        This daylily is similar to Mikado in habit of growth and in the size and shape of the conspicuously eyed flowers; 
        but the flower, except for the zone of English red in the petals, is light cadmium or almost yellow. 
        The scapes are much branched and reach a height of about 3.5 feet. The period of flowering at New York is in July. 
        In obtaining Jubilee a seedling of H. aurantiaca x H. fulva wild from China was crossed with Mikado.
